Call for Better Representation of Minoritised Groups in Design of Scotland's Conversion Therapy Ban

Today we wrote to Ms McKelvie, the MSP and Scottish Minister for Equalities and Older People asking for better representation of people from minoritised ethnic and religious LGBT communities in the design of Scotland's Conversion Practices ban in response to petition PE1817: End Conversion Therapy.

Research commissioned by the UK government has shown that ethnic minority people are

more than twice as likely as white people to have been offered conversion ‘therapy’. It is therefore important that people from these groups are properly considered and represented in the design of this legalisation.
